Best quality out there. Super stable. Not designed for speed but for safety and comfort. My 71 year old wife would not even try sitting on one of my other sit on top kayaks. Five minutes after riding in it she was tapping the side of it and saying "you're my Baby". I was the one saying it's time to head back to the launch area."Thanks Ocean Kayak"Absolutely love this kayak. I have gone out with one other person and used the two person configuration and I also take my two large dogs with me and use the center configuration. The kayak is very stable. I added one of the hatch covers for storage as there isn't much room on top when you have a person and two dogs. One of my dogs sits behind me and the other stands up front. I added some grip to the front to help my dog have better footing. The extra loops used for the other seat configurations works great for me to attach the dog beds I made to hold them in place. I am able to get this kayak on the roof of my car by myself but it isn't super easy. I started just putting it inside my car. So much easier to load and unload. I use a kayak cart to move the kayak from one place to another. The handles in the middle work great to loop the cart strap through to keep it from falling off. If you are shorter than 5 foot, you will have a tough time reaching the foot Wells in the middle seat position.I have mixed feelings about this kayak. The first two times we used this brand and this exact model we rented the kayaks. We were super-excited because we had a great experience in the water, they were easy to handle and had great stability. So we decided to buy one. When we received the kayak, I noticed that one of the covers of the handle was missing (I found it several minutes later on the ground). Initially I thought it had just fallen off and can be put back, but then I realized that it was broken. Two of the clips which were supposed to hold the cover attached to the handle were broken and nowhere to be found.It seems to be one of the weaknesses of this kayak. Of course it is just a handle and it does not influence the feeling of the kayak in the water. However, given that this kayak is pretty heavy, the handles are pretty important when transporting it. it would be pretty inconvenient to have to hold it while the handle cuts into your palm.Hence, we decided to ask for a refund instead of a replacement. I really feel sorry this didn't work out. We absolutely loved this kayak in the water.I bought this as a gift for my husband in the spring. We just recently were able to take it out. The second time we tried to take it with us camping with our trailer and the kayak is too big it dented the travel trailer when we tried to take a turn out of the driveway. So, needless to say, we cannot use it. I tried to contact the company to return it and they basically said sorry too much time has passed and we won't take a return. So, now we try to sell it ourselves. So much for customer service.The Kayak by itself seems to be of good quality .... it was received on time BUT it was received with NO packing or protection at all and a product of this nature requires some packing for transportation ..... It was receved just at it is no packing of any natureDuring the transportation it was not properly handled and I received with two scratches .... one of them is 2" long and so deep that it needs to be repaired before using the Kayak ......I do not feel safe using it with this deep scratch, I'm afraid to discover in the sae that water is going into it ........... the other scratch is around 10" long but more superficial and I believe it does not compromise the performance of the Kayak in the waterI'm glad that the 2" scratch is the deepest and the one that need some work .... it would be worst to hav the 10" long that deepSee attached pictures ........ so sad I have to repair the Kayak before using it ........ I was expecting to receive my brand new toy in mint condition and ready to be used ........ it was a really bad purchasing experience, pased on that damage caused by an unproperly or unexisting packingOther than that, I like my new Kayak ....... so I'll start working rightaway on it to begin to enjoy itSo I bought this thing hoping my wife and daughter might enjoy floating the near by river. neither had ever been in a boat and are not so "outdoorsy" . delivered to my very rural door step, unbelievable. Took it out, pretty tame small river (Tallapoosa) but not without some minor challenges. This thing is very stable, tracks very well. My daughter loved paddling and quickly learned how to steer it Great experience for her. But here's the kicker. I was lazy tying it into the back of the pick-up and sure enough, on a roughly paved country road, at 45 mph we lost it! POO! Stopped to gather the pieces and low and behold, other than a few minor scratches it was undamaged. Have used it several times since. Pretty impressive as far as I am concerned. jmWe bought this kayak based on reading excellent reviews and they were accurate. We have rented kayaks for years and we were pleased to discover that this kayak was lighter weight than our rentals, and had great carrying handles, including side handles, which made hauling the boat through narrow spaces much easier. We were worried that we should have bought the extra long tandem, but this was really long enough. There was ample room for a 6' man and a 5'6" woman. The seats were comfortable, and seem like they will be very durable.You are out on a lake, or a coastal marsh... Holds you and your daughter, or even two if they aren't grown yet! Very, very stable. Rides high so little splash over (unless you do it on purpose). Very nice colors. It is a little heavy, but can be carried by one person. The only reasons for 4 stars vs 5 is that you will need to add your own gromitts and rigging.... But don't you want to do that anyhow? And oh yeah.... Amazon will bring it to your front door! Amazon or Amazingon? Yeah, time for a name change.
